Description
An established and forward-thinking housing provider is looking for a confident and proactive Housing Officer to cover one of their Tower Hamlets patches. This is a key role within a customer-focused team that’s passionate about creating safe, well-managed homes and delivering an excellent service to residents.
This position will provide short-term cover due to internal changes within the team, so we’re seeking someone who can hit the ground running, manage their own workload with minimal supervision, and take full ownership of their patch.
- Location: Tower Hamlets, London
- Rate: £22.27 per hour (PAYE) / £29.45 per hour (Umbrella)
- Contract: Initial 6 weeks (potential to extend)
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a defined patch in Tower Hamlets, delivering a high-quality housing management service.
- Build strong relationships with residents, managing agents, and contractors to resolve issues promptly.
- Handle cases involving ASB, rent arrears, safeguarding, and tenancy breaches.
- Carry out estate inspections and ensure communal areas are well-maintained and safe.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to deliver an excellent resident experience.
- Ensure repairs, maintenance, and estate management standards are consistently high.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in housing management and customer service.
- Confident managing ASB, arrears, and estate issues from start to resolution.
- Able to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience liaising with external managing agents.
