Our client is a fantastic community and neighbourhood-based housing association managing and developing quality affordable housing for people in North and East London, and building more homes in Hackney, Islington and Waltham Forest. They are a major provider of truly affordable housing in North London, with over 2,500 homes.
We are now seeking an experienced and dynamic Interim Building Surveyor to join their team on an ongoing temporary basis initially - paying £300 - £320 per day (via Umbrella).
Role Overview:
Responsible for managing responsive repairs, voids, and planned maintenance contracts, ensuring cost-effective delivery and high customer satisfaction. Carry out building defect diagnosis, specify works, and oversee both reactive and planned projects from inception to completion. Conduct pre- and post-inspections to ensure quality, value for money, and compliance with housing standards. Deliver stock condition surveys and support long-term asset management strategies.
Key Experience:
- Strong technical knowledge of building construction, maintenance, and housing legislation
- Proven track record in managing voids, disrepair claims, and compliance works
- Skilled in project management, contractor supervision, and performance monitoring
- Proficient in producing specifications, cost estimates, and reports
- Experience using asset management software and MS Office
- Degree-qualified in Building Surveying with sound understanding of CDM, H&S regs, and Building Regulations
