Description

Legal Services Manager – Housing (Interim)

  • Up to £55 per hour (Umbrella)
  • Hybrid – 2 days in office (Tues & Weds) - Kings Cross based
  • 6-month contract initially

If you’re a qualified Solicitor who knows housing litigation inside out and enjoys leading from the front, this one’s worth your attention.

You’ll step into a high-impact leadership role, managing a team of 4 Paralegals while owning a complex caseload across housing management matters. This isn’t just about oversight - you’ll be the go-to legal voice for the business, influencing decisions, reducing risk, and driving better outcomes for residents.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading, mentoring and developing a team delivering high-quality legal services
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to operational teams on housing law and risk
  • Managing your own caseload across possession, disrepair, ASB, tenancy breaches & more
  • Overseeing legal referrals and ensuring cases are progressed efficiently and sensitively
  • Managing legal spend and making commercial decisions on settlement vs litigation
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external panel solicitors
  • Driving training and upskilling across the wider business

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll balance people management, strategy and technical legal work.

What we’re looking for

  • Qualified Solicitor (essential) with a valid practising certificate
  • Strong background in housing litigation (HA, Local Authority or Private Practice)
  • Experience managing or supervising a legal team
  • Confident handling complex, high-risk cases and advising senior stakeholders
  • Commercially aware with the ability to balance risk vs cost effectively

Why this role?

You’ll be joining a forward-thinking London housing provider within the G15 group - organisations responsible for housing a huge proportion of the capital’s residents. They’re known for combining social impact with professional excellence, and this role sits right at the heart of that mission.

You’ll play a key role in helping residents sustain their tenancies wherever possible, while protecting the organisation legally and financially - a proper balance of purpose and challenge.

Why apply?

  • Strong day rate
  • Genuine leadership opportunity
  • High-profile, meaningful work
  • Hybrid flexibility (with key in-office collaboration days)
