Privatie Sector Housing Officer

We are currently recruiting for a Private Sector Housing Officer to join our clients team on a temporary basis. 

Pay Rates: 

• PAYE £39.73 per hour 
• Umbrella £52.15 per hour 

Role Overview:

You will support the council’s work in regulating and improving privately rented properties. This includes:

• Carrying out inspections of private sector housing
• Enforcing property licensing and HHSRS standards
• Issuing notices, licences and taking enforcement action where necessary
• Advising landlords and tenants
• Preparing cases for prosecution or tribunal as needed

Key Requirements:

• Experience in housing enforcement and private sector housing regulation
• Strong understanding of housing legislation and HHSRS
• Confident in liaising with landlords, tenants, and external partners
• Able to manage a busy caseload independently
