Senior Finance Analyst

We are looking for an experienced Senior Finance Analyst to support a key department at a forward-thinking London local authority.

Contract Details:

• Until October 2025
• Hybrid working arrangement
• Rates: £34.27 ph PAYE / £45.00 ph Umbrella

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead on the financial management of significant service budgets (e.g. housing, social care, schools)
• Provide strategic financial advice to senior managers and support decision-making
• Coordinate budgeting, forecasting, and year-end closure processes
• Deliver value for money reviews and unit costing exercises
• Provide commercial and contract finance support
• Mentor and manage a small team of analysts/officers

Requirements:

• CCAB qualified accountant with extensive post-qualification experience
• Background in local government finance or large public sector organisations
• Strong leadership and analytical skills
• Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly
• Experience with financial controls, statutory reporting, and commercial finance
