Description

We’re looking for two passionate and proactive Specialist Housing Officers (Sheltered Housing) to join a forward-thinking local authority known for its community focus and commitment to providing high-quality housing services for older and vulnerable residents.

As part of the Sheltered Housing team, you’ll deliver a first-class tenancy and estate management service - ensuring residents feel safe, supported, and proud of where they live. You’ll play a key role in improving quality of life, coordinating with care providers, and making sure schemes are well maintained and welcoming.

Key Details:

Location: On-site based in and around Hammersmith, London
Contract: Initial 3-month contract with strong potential to extend
Rates: £22.18 per hour PAYE or £28.21 per hour Umbrella (small flex for the right candidate)

The successful candidate will either already hold an enhanced DBS / on the update service or be in a position to successfully pass an enhanced DBS.
 
What you’ll be doing:

  • Delivering enhanced housing management support to older and vulnerable tenants.
  • Carrying out regular inspections of sheltered schemes to ensure safety and cleanliness.
  • Coordinating repairs, maintenance, and handy person services for residents.
  • Managing tenancy sign-ups, changes, and terminations.
  • Promoting social activities and community engagement within the schemes.
  • Identifying and addressing tenancy issues such as ASB, arrears, and safeguarding concerns.
  • Building strong relationships with residents, partners, and support agencies.

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience working with vulnerable adults or older people in a housing, care, or community setting.
  • Strong understanding of housing management and safeguarding principles.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a caring and professional approach.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a supportive team.
  • Confidence using IT systems to manage records and tenancy information.
