We are currently recruiting for an excellent Permanent opportunity in South East London as a Development Manager.
We are looking for a candidate to work with the Director and Head of Development to identify unmet housing need and ensure that we are working within the existing development proposals to reflect these needs.
Identify and evaluate potential development sites – considering their suitability for different housing types and financial viability. Carry out activities necessary to acquire these sites and properties in pursuance of our client’s development programme.
Appoint and control external consultants and contractors in accordance with our client’s policies and procedures and current procurement legislation. Manage capital projects to a total value of £30million. Monitor project budgets and control development costs constantly. Lead and inspire the development team in the development and delivery of housing projects.
Manage each scheme effectively and optimally with a focus on efficiency and value for money. Prepare, submit and update bids with any changes against delivery and funding deadlines. Work collaboratively with finance colleagues, while taking ownership of appraisals for schemes and applying financial assumptions appropriately.
Demonstrate high-level project management skills including the ability to critique and modify financial appraisals, manage costs, quality, timescales and risk. Define and manage project risks, including updating project appraisals at every key stage.
