Gas & Electrical Supervisor
Location: Hemel Hempstead
Contract: Temporary Contract
Pay: £55,000 per annum (temp equivalent will be applied)
We are currently partnering with a well-established organisation within the housing sector to appoint a Gas & Electrical Supervisor. This is a key position within the team, offering the opportunity to lead from the front, develop engineers, and ensure the highest standards of safety, compliance, and service delivery across their portfolio.
The Role
As Gas & Electrical Supervisor, you will take a hands-on leadership role, supervising a team of 14 operatives (7 gas engineers and 7 electrical engineers). You’ll oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring all works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with current regulations.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong technical knowledge and supervisory experience within social housing or property maintenance, who enjoys being on the ground, supporting teams, and driving performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and support a team of gas and electrical engineers
- Oversee day-to-day repairs, maintenance, and compliance activities
- Ensure all works meet current gas and electrical safety regulations
- Monitor team performance, productivity, and quality of work
- Support planning, scheduling, and coordination of works
- Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders
- Deliver a high standard of service to residents
- Maintain accurate compliance records and reporting
About You
- Proven experience supervising gas and/or electrical teams
- Strong technical knowledge of compliance and safety standards
- Background in social housing, facilities management, or property maintenance
- Hands-on approach with the ability to lead by example
- Strong organisational and communication skills
