We are looking for an experienced Neighbourhood Housing Lead to join a leading housing provider on a temporary contract of up to 12 weeks, with the possibility of extension.
This is an excellent opportunity for a customer-focused housing professional who enjoys taking ownership, building trusted relationships with residents and finding practical solutions to complex neighbourhood and tenancy matters.
You will act as the primary relationship holder for residents living within an allocated patch of approximately 500–600 homes. Your work will be central to improving resident satisfaction, building trust and ensuring residents receive a reliable, consistent and responsive housing management service.
Key responsibilities
You will:
- Manage relationships with tenants and leaseholders across an allocated neighbourhood patch.
- Deliver a consistent and customer-focused housing management service.
- Handle tenancy and leasehold management matters, including tenancy fraud and anti-social behaviour.
- Respond appropriately to sensitive cases involving domestic abuse, hate crime, vulnerable residents and safeguarding concerns.
- Undertake property and communal inspections and support effective facilities and property management.
- Manage competing priorities, risks, compliance requirements and deadlines.
- Work with internal colleagues, local stakeholders and partner organisations to achieve positive outcomes for residents.
- Explain complex information clearly to residents and colleagues.
- Challenge existing approaches where necessary and see issues through to a suitable resolution.
- Support value for money and appropriate management of budgets associated with the patch.
About you
You must have demonstrable experience in a similar housing or neighbourhood management role, together with sound knowledge of tenancy management and property management.
You will also need:
- Experience working directly with tenants and/or leaseholders.
- Knowledge of anti-social behaviour, tenancy fraud, safeguarding and support for vulnerable residents.
- Understanding of communal inspections, service charges and relevant housing, immigration and welfare reform matters.
- Knowledge of housing association regulation and compliance.
- Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to manage risk and a varied, complex workload.
- Excellent communication, time management and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence, resilience and the determination to achieve the right outcomes for residents.
- A valid driving licence and access to a car for work.
- The ability to obtain or provide a Basic DBS certificate.
An IRPM qualification, housing qualification or extensive property management experience would be advantageous. You should also be willing to work towards an IRPM qualification and undertake other relevant learning where required.
This is an agile hybrid role. You will spend 20%–40% of your contractual hours working from the Stratford location, with travel required across Bexley, Lewisham, Greenwich and Medway. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00.
If you are an experienced housing professional who takes ownership, keeps promises and cares about delivering an excellent service to residents, we would be pleased to hear from you.
