Housing Officer – Level 3

£30.50 per hour Umbrella | Hybrid | Barnet | 3-Month Contract + Potential Extension

Are you an experienced Housing Officer looking for your next contract opportunity with one of London’s leading housing organisations?

We’re currently recruiting for a Housing Officer - Level 3 to join a well-established G15 housing organisation, managing a patch of approximately 190–200 properties across Barnet.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a professional, resident-focused team where there is a strong likelihood of longer-term opportunities becoming available within the team for the right person.

The role

You’ll take ownership of your own housing patch, building positive relationships with residents and ensuring issues are dealt with proactively and effectively.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a patch of circa 190–200 properties across Barnet.
  • Acting as a visible and proactive point of contact for residents.
  • Managing and resolving resident enquiries, complaints and disputes.
  • Investigating and managing ASB cases, safeguarding concerns and other tenancy-related issues.
  • Carrying out estate and property inspections, ensuring homes and communal areas are maintained to a high standard.
  • Taking ownership of repairs and working closely with internal repairs and planned works teams.
  • Working with managing agents, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure issues are resolved through to completion.
  • Supporting resident engagement through community events, forums and regular communication.
  • Managing service charge matters, ensuring transparency and value for residents.
  • Ensuring health & safety requirements, KPIs and organisational procedures are met.
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams to improve the overall resident experience.

About you

We’re looking for someone with strong housing management experience who can confidently manage their own patch and deal with a varied caseload.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Previous experience working as a Housing Officer / Neighbourhood Officer / Resident Services Officer within social housing.
  • Experience managing a housing patch and dealing directly with residents.
  • Strong knowledge of housing management, tenancy issues, ASB and complaints.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong investigation, negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
  • The resilience and tenacity to see complex cases through to resolution.
  • A customer-focused and analytical approach.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

A relevant housing qualification is desirable, although relevant practical experience will also be considered.
