This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy Asset Management team, supporting the delivery of property repairs and improvements while playing a key role in managing complex legal disrepair cases.

Working closely with internal legal teams, contractors and wider property management colleagues, you will be responsible for undertaking detailed property inspections, preparing technical reports and overseeing remedial works to ensure cases are resolved effectively, within agreed timescales and to the required standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake detailed building surveys and inspections relating to legal disrepair claims.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports, including OP35 expert reports, to support legal proceedings.
  • Assess property defects, identify causes of disrepair and recommend appropriate remedial works.
  • Work closely with legal caseworkers, solicitors and internal stakeholders to progress disrepair cases.
  • Project manage the delivery of remedial works, ensuring completion within agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Undertake post-inspections to ensure works have been completed to the required quality and specification.
  • Provide technical advice and recommendations on complex building defects and property conditions.
  • Liaise with contractors to resolve issues and ensure a high standard of service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate surveying records, reports and associated documentation.

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Proven, demonstrable experience specifically within legal disrepair surveying.
  • Relevant professional surveying qualifications.
  • Previous experience preparing OP35 expert reports.
  • Strong technical report-writing skills and the ability to produce detailed surveying assessments.
  • Experience managing legal disrepair cases from initial inspection through to completion of remedial works.
  • Experience working within social housing or residential property maintenance.

Desirable

  • RICS or CIOB membership.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Experience working with JCT/NEC contract documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of property maintenance, repairs and asset management.

Interested?

If you have the required legal disrepair experience, relevant surveying qualifications and a proven track record producing OP35 expert reports, we'd love to hear from you.

Please submit your up-to-date CV for consideration.
