Description
Neighbourhood Housing Officer
Contract | East London | Agile Working (60%-80% Remote) | Immediate Start
£37,451 - £41,045 per annum (temp equivalent will be applied)
The Opportunity
We’re working with a leading housing association to recruit a Neighbourhood Housing Officer for an initial 2-month contract, providing short-term sickness cover across the Waltham Forest patch in East London. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced housing professional to join a resident-focused organisation, delivering a responsive housing management service and ensuring residents receive the support and service they deserve.
The role offers agile working, with approximately 60–80% remote working, alongside attendance at the East London office and visits across the patch as required. There is also the potential for the assignment to lead to a longer-term opportunity within the organisation, although this cannot be guaranteed.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a designated neighbourhood patch, acting as the main point of contact for residents.
- Handle tenancy and property management queries, resolving issues promptly and effectively.
- Investigate and manage anti-social behaviour, tenancy breaches and neighbourhood issues.
- Carry out tenancy audits, property inspections and communal area checks.
- Support vulnerable residents, making appropriate referrals and addressing safeguarding concerns.
- Respond to resident complaints, councillor enquiries and other escalated issues.
- Monitor risks, complete fire safety actions and ensure compliance with relevant procedures.
- Liaise with internal teams, local authorities and contractors to deliver effective housing services.
About You
We’re looking for someone with solid housing management experience who can hit the ground running and work confidently with minimal supervision.
You’ll ideally have:
- Strong experience in neighbourhood or tenancy management within social housing.
- Experience managing anti-social behaviour, tenancy issues and resident enquiries.
- A good understanding of safeguarding, housing compliance and property management.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and customer service skills.
- The ability to manage a busy caseload and deliver results from day one.
- Full UK Driving License with access to a vehicle
