An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join a leading housing provider renowned for their commitment to maintaining high-quality, safe, and sustainable homes across London and the South East. The Role

As a Senior Building Surveyor, you’ll lead a team of surveyors and technical staff to deliver major and reactive works programmes across a diverse housing portfolio. You’ll bring both strategic and hands-on expertise, ensuring properties are effectively maintained, residents receive an exceptional service, and works are delivered on time and within budget.

You’ll play a key role in shaping and implementing the organisation’s repair strategy, driving innovation, and ensuring compliance with technical standards and legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of surveyors, fostering a culture of collaboration and service excellence.
  • Oversee complex building works, including defect diagnosis, specification, tendering, and contract management.
  • Provide expert technical advice on maintenance, design, and compliance matters.
  • Monitor and evaluate contractor performance, ensuring high-quality outcomes and value for money.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across repairs and asset management functions.

About You

  • Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS, MCIOB, or equivalent).
  • Proven line management experience within property services or housing.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building pathology, contract administration, and asset management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive leader who can balance operational demands with strategic goals.
