Lettings Officer
Ongoing Temporary Contract | £24.65 per hour | Hybrid Working | Wembley
We’re currently working with a large London local authority to recruit an experienced Lettings Officer to join their Housing team on an ongoing temporary basis.
This is a great opportunity to join a busy housing service responsible for supporting residents through the lettings process and ensuring available homes are allocated efficiently, fairly and in line with relevant housing legislation and local policies.
The Role
As a Lettings Officer, you’ll manage a varied caseload and support the end-to-end letting of social housing properties, working closely with applicants, tenants, internal teams and external partners.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the lettings and allocation process for available properties
- Assessing applicants and ensuring eligibility in line with relevant policies and legislation
- Advertising and matching properties to suitable applicants
- Managing nominations, offers and property viewings
- Liaising with applicants throughout the lettings process and providing clear, timely updates
- Working closely with Housing, Homelessness and Temporary Accommodation teams
- Ensuring properties are let efficiently and helping to minimise void periods
- Maintaining accurate case records and updating housing management systems
- Providing advice to residents on housing options, allocations and the lettings process
About You
We’re looking for someone with:
- Previous experience within social housing lettings, allocations or a closely related housing service
- Good knowledge of social housing allocations and relevant housing legislation
- Experience managing a busy caseload within a local authority or housing association environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced service
- Confident IT and housing management system skills
