Fire Safety Surveyor
Permanent: £56,260 + £1,800 car allowance

Liquid Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Fire Safety Surveyor to join the Fire Safety team of a large social housing provider on a permanent basis.
The role will primarily cover properties across North West London, South West London and South East London, although there may occasionally be a requirement to support other areas across London.
This is a hands-on surveying role managing fire risk assessment remedial works across a large residential housing portfolio, from initial inspection and diagnosis through to specification, contractor delivery and post inspection.
The role You’ll be responsible for:
- Managing FRA actions and ensuring remedial works are completed within required timescales
- Carrying out pre and post inspections across residential properties
- Diagnosing fire and building-related defects
- Producing remedial proposals and detailed specifications of work
- Managing and monitoring contractors and consultants
- Inspecting workmanship and carrying out quality control checks
- Monitoring contractor performance, budgets and programmes
- Carrying out H&S spot checks on site
- Ensuring works comply with current fire safety legislation, building regulations and agreed standards
- Liaising with Fire Authorities where required, including passive fire actions arising from Notices of Deficiency
- Maintaining accurate records of works, variations, snagging and progress
- Providing technical advice on fire safety and construction-related matters
What we’re looking for You’ll need:
- Experience as a Fire Safety Surveyor, Building Surveyor or similar within a residential maintenance environment
- Experience carrying out pre and post inspections
- NEBOSH Fire qualification or equivalent
- Working knowledge of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
- Strong knowledge of fire and construction-related defects
- Experience producing detailed specifications of work
- Experience managing contractors and remedial works
- Experience of SOR and non-SOR contracts
- Good knowledge of building regulations, H&S legislation and current fire safety standards
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
RICS, CIOB, IFE or similar professional membership would be beneficial but isn’t essential.
