Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Surveyor to join a well-established social housing organisation on an initial 2-month contract, with the potential for a longer-term opportunity.

Working within the Asset Services team, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality surveying services across a portfolio of approximately 7,000 homes, helping to resolve complex repairs, support leaseholders and improve customer outcomes.

Role: Leasehold Surveyor
Location: Liverpool (Hybrid Working)
Pay: £22.50 PAYE / £29.88 Umbrella
Contract: 2-Month Contract (Potential to Extend)
Other: Full UK Driving Licence & Own Vehicle Required

The Role

This is a varied, customer-focused position where no two days are the same. You'll be responsible for carrying out inspections, diagnosing building defects and managing complex repair cases while working closely with internal teams and contractors to deliver excellent service. The role also supports planned investment and stock condition activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out inspections relating to complex repairs and building defects.
  • Investigate long-running or escalated repair issues and customer complaints.
  • Diagnose defects and recommend appropriate remedial works.
  • Work alongside the in-house repairs contractor on complex cases.
  • Assess leaseholder requests for property alterations.
  • Support stock condition surveying and planned investment activities where required.
  • Produce clear reports and technical recommendations.
  • Deliver an excellent customer experience while ensuring value for money.

About You

We're keen to hear from candidates with experience in:

  • Building Surveying
  • Repairs & Maintenance Surveying
  • Social Housing or Residential Property
  • Diagnosing Building Defects
  • Customer-focused surveying roles

Experience with leasehold properties or stock condition surveys would be advantageous, but is not essential. Practical surveying experience and the ability to recognise when specialist advice is required are far more important.

Relevant qualifications such as an HNC/HND or equivalent in Building Surveying, Construction or a related discipline are welcomed, although proven experience will be considered over formal qualifications.

Working Pattern

  • Hybrid working (approximately one office day per week following induction)
  • Site inspections across Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Northampton and Carlisle
  • Majority of travel focused around Liverpool and Manchester
  • Up to four days per week visiting sites
  • One day typically allocated to administration and reporting

A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.

What's on Offer?

  • Immediate start
  • One-stage Microsoft Teams interview
  • Hybrid and flexible working
  • Opportunity to join a supportive Asset Services team
  • Potential for contract extension as the service continues to evolve

If you're an experienced Surveyor looking for your next contract within social housing, we'd love to hear from you.
