Description
Neighbourhood Housing Lead
Parsons Green - SW London | £37,451 to £41,045 per annum | Initial Contract
We are looking for an experienced Neighbourhood Housing Lead to support residents and deliver a responsive, consistent and customer-focused housing management service in Parsons Green.
This is an initially temporary position for three months, with the potential to continue longer term.
You will take ownership of the primary relationship with residents across a defined patch of approximately 500 to 600 homes. Your focus will be on improving resident satisfaction, building trust and resolving housing and property-related issues effectively. You will act as the voice of residents, coordinate support across internal teams and ensure that commitments are followed through.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Managing relationships with tenants and leaseholders across your allocated patch
- Providing clear advice on tenancy, leasehold, property and service charge matters
- Resolving nuisance, anti-social behaviour, tenancy breaches and neighbourhood issues
- Supporting residents affected by vulnerability, domestic abuse, hate crime or safeguarding concerns
- Conducting tenancy audits and inspections of homes, buildings, communal areas and open spaces
- Identifying, managing and escalating tenancy, property and neighbourhood risks
- Completing fire risk actions and other compliance activity within required timescales
- Addressing issues including waste management, fly-tipping, parking, abandoned vehicles, pets and graffiti
- Making referrals to internal and external support services where appropriate
- Supporting complaints and enquiries from residents, MPs and councillors
- Preparing referrals for legal or court action and attending court when required
- Working with local authorities, police, contractors and other external partners
- Monitoring services delivered across the patch and challenging poor performance
You will need demonstrable housing management experience and sound knowledge of tenancy and property management. This should include experience of anti-social behaviour, safeguarding, compliance, communal inspections and working directly with tenants or leaseholders.
Strong customer service, communication and problem-solving skills are essential. You must be able to manage a complex workload, meet important deadlines and explain detailed information clearly to a diverse audience. The role also calls for empathy, resilience and the confidence to challenge established approaches when this is necessary to secure the right outcome for residents.
Knowledge of the regulatory environment for housing associations, relevant housing legislation, risk management and value for money will be important. An IRPM or other housing qualification would be advantageous, although candidates willing to work towards the IRPM qualification will also be considered.
You must hold a valid driving licence and have access to a car for work purposes. The successful candidate will also need to apply for, or already hold, the appropriate DBS certificate.
Benefits include an excellent pension plan, 28 days’ annual leave rising with service plus bank holidays, a health cash plan, non-contributory life assurance, paid volunteering time, lifestyle benefits and an Employee Assistance Programme.
If you are an experienced housing professional who takes ownership, keeps promises and cares about delivering excellent outcomes for residents, we would be delighted to hear from you.
