Pensions Team Leader

  • West London | Hybrid Working
  • £47.47p/h – £64.43p/h Umbrella
  • Initial 12-week contract with likely extension
  • Tuesdays & Wednesdays in office

We’re currently supporting a well-established London Borough in the search for an experienced Pensions Team Leader to join their busy pensions function on an interim basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced pensions professional with strong people management experience to lead a team of 5 Pension Advisors within a complex public sector environment. There is also potential for the successful candidate to apply for a permanent position longer term if desired.

The organisation is known for delivering high-quality resident-focused services and offers a collaborative, supportive working culture with a strong emphasis on development, service excellence, and continuous improvement.

The Role

You’ll support the Pensions Manager in the day-to-day operation of the retained pension client service, overseeing a team responsible for pensions administration, employer liaison, compliance, calculations, and customer service delivery.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and mentoring a team of Pension Advisors
  • Overseeing pension administration processes and quality assurance
  • Supporting employers with pension-related obligations and queries
  • Monitoring performance and service delivery
  • Managing complex pension calculations and reconciliations
  • Supporting training, development, and continuous improvement across the team
  • Deputising for the Pensions Manager where required

About You We’re keen to speak with candidates who have:

  • Strong pensions administration experience
  • Previous experience managing or supervising pensions teams
  • A background in Defined Benefit (DB) pensions administration
  • Experience handling complex pension calculations and casework
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

LGPS experience is beneficial but no longer essential. Candidates from broader Defined Benefit pensions backgrounds will absolutely be considered.

Why Apply?

  • Excellent hourly rates available depending on experience
  • Hybrid working arrangement
  • Opportunity to join a supportive and high-performing team
  • Strong chance of contract extension
  • Potential route into a permanent opportunity

If this could be of interest, please apply today or get in touch for a confidential discussion.
