Building Surveyor – Legal Disrepair
- Location: Kings Cross office base with travel across London
- Pay: Up to £450 per day Umbrella
- Contract: 9-Month Contract
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Building Surveyor to join one of London’s leading G15 housing organisations on a long-term contract basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly respected social housing provider, supporting the delivery of legal disrepair cases across a diverse residential portfolio throughout London.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing disrepair cases from initial inspection through to completion, working closely with contractors, legal teams, and operational stakeholders to ensure works are delivered to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing legal disrepair cases across occupied residential properties
- Conducting detailed building surveys, inspections, and post-inspections
- Producing technical reports, specifications, and recommendations
- Managing reactive and planned works programmes
- Working closely with contractors to ensure quality, compliance, and value for money
- Supporting complaint investigations and complex repair issues
- Ensuring all works comply with relevant H&S and CDM regulations
- Liaising with legal teams and internal stakeholders throughout the disrepair process
Requirements
- MUST have strong experience managing legal disrepair cases
- Qualified Building Surveyor or equivalent professional qualification
- Previous experience within social housing/property services
- Strong technical surveying knowledge across residential properties
- Experience producing detailed reports and specifications
- Good understanding of JCT/NEC contracts
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple complex cases simultaneously
