Data Compliance Officer

Location: Kings Cross, London (Hybrid – 2 Days Office-Based: Monday & Wednesday)
Pay: £34.42 per hour via Umbrella
Contract: Initial 3-Month Contract – Strong Potential to Extend Long-Term

We’re currently supporting one of London’s leading G15 Housing Associations in the search for an experienced Data Compliance Officer to provide interim cover within their Data Protection function. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected social housing provider with a strong reputation across London and genuine long-term potential for the successful candidate.

This role will focus on supporting GDPR and Data Protection compliance across a large and complex housing operation, working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure robust governance, compliance, and risk management processes are maintained.

The Role

You’ll play a key role in supporting the organisation’s Data Protection function, managing a varied caseload across Subject Access Requests, breach investigations, compliance reporting, and GDPR advisory work.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing Subject Access Requests (SARs) within statutory deadlines
• Investigating data breaches and supporting ICO reporting processes
• Maintaining and updating Records of Processing Activities (RoPA) across housing operations
• Supporting and reviewing Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)
• Providing practical GDPR and Data Protection advice to stakeholders across the business
• Supporting compliance reporting, action plans, and policy guidance
• Assisting with data protection training and awareness initiatives
• Coordinating activities across the wider compliance and governance function

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience within Data Protection, GDPR, or Information Governance roles
• Good working knowledge of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018
• Experience handling SARs, breaches, DPIAs, and compliance investigations
• Ability to provide clear advice and guidance to stakeholders at all levels
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Housing association or public sector experience would be highly beneficial

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to step into a highly visible compliance role within a respected organisation, with the chance for long-term progression and extension beyond the initial contract.
